Hi, I’m Courtney Irby.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  I have 10+ years’ experience working with children and families for Child Protective Services, specializing in foster care, clinical services, and adoptions.  I am qualified under the Texas Family Code to conduct private Adoption Evaluations and approved to do so by the district court judges in Denton County, Texas.  My expertise is parent-child relationships, blended families, trauma/maltreatment history, anxiety, self-esteem, and emotional regulation.  My style is compassionate, authentic, and direct when needed.  My practice is informed by family systems and solution focused models.

I work with adolescents, young adults, and parents to help strengthen individual and family functioning.   I know that personal experience and perception molds each person into who they are, therefore, I regard the client as the expert on their life.  I strive to create a comfortable environment and establish a secure therapeutic relationship that allows us to explore areas of concern.  I seek to help you make decisions and find solutions by identifying realistic, practical, and achievable goals.  Treatment is aimed to make changes by improving mindfulness, breaking dysfunctional thinking patterns, and empowering desirable behavioral to strengthen personal or family functioning.
